The project is deeply inspired by the work of Tatsuki Fujimoto, whose storytelling blends violence, tenderness, absurdity, and existential tension in a way that challenges what shōnen manga can be. Fujimoto’s characters are emotionally complex and symbolically rich, and this 3D reinterpretation aims to honor the raw energy of his drawings while exploring how they can be translated into cinematic realism. Fujimoto’s bold compositions, fragmented paneling, and use of negative space influenced the direction of the lighting, the framing of the shots, and the expressive distortions integrated into the models. In particular, the Reze animation attempts to capture the paradox that Fujimoto masters so well: beauty intertwined with danger, fragility in contrast with overwhelming destructive power.
